What color paint for my black countertop/black appliances with white cabinets?

We are moving back to WA state into the home we own. Im excited about changing the wall colors there. Our house didnt sell and we dont like Arizona so we are so thrilled to get back to WA state. My husband got his job back! God is good!
I mean what color of walls in the kitchen with black countertop, black appliances, and white cabinets? My original question wasnt clear.

The only thing I can think of is Tan-ish, Almond, etc. Something that has a bit of color as white walls with the cabinets would be too stark.

(I think Cream or off white will be too light) Both are really "whites". They look great in the can but always look too white once they are on the walls. I bet you will want to go darker.

If the kitchen is large and has good lighting you can go a bit darker. But with a small kitchen and poor lighting the dark counters can overwhelm the kitchen. Then you have to go with something very light.

WA as in 120 inches of winter rain and rainless drought all summer?
