Polish nobility in my family?
A year ago I find out my grandma's family (on my dads side) was of noble blood in Poland. My great grandfather's last name was:
Monastyrski
My grandma in Poland said that her mother was a hrabina, meaning countess. I can't seem to find any details about my family's noblility, but I know how the coat-of-arms looks like. It's a silver sword, facing down, with a gold hilt. It also has a red backround and what seems like golden brackets facing opposite each other.
I'm curious about Polish nobility, especially if I'm from one, so any research would be awesome. Thanks SO much!!

It would be best to work back person by person from now to the past, and dig up documents to link the associations continuously, so that you do not get lost.
I have seen many people decide that they were direct descendants from King Jan Sobieski, and that they are royalty. Could they inherit a castle? I think not. King Jan, who kicked the Turks out of Europe, died without issue and so did his two brothers. Furthermore, his job was an elected position, not an inherited one.
(Early Zabriskie's in America probably come from Albrecht Zabriskie, a cousin, --an interesting character in his own right-- FYI.)
Coats-of-Arms are not helpful except in unusual circumstances, because generally in Europe they were only good for the individual for which they were presented. Now days, scammers make them up for your family name and sell them on the Internet. These are false rip-offs.
Go bit by bit, and don't be afraid to study history. It might give you some hints. Remember that Poland never had regular borders. Many of their nobility were Silesians, Prussians, etc.

One old book on there suggests that the name Monastyrski was given to "children of the monastery."
