Bronze Bathroom Light
My foundation makes my face look a little too dark, and bronzed, what do I do?.?
Okay, this is my mom's question if your wondering.."My makeup looks fine when I put it on in my bathroom, but my bathroom has normal lighting, but after I put it on and go outside in the sunlight, or just outside or near a window in general, my makeup appears like my face is a mix of orange bronzer, 3 shades darker, and a mix of a little red and it's very obvious when I put on my makeup. What should I do?.. I'm currently using the 'Beige 400' by Mary Kay, and have a little darker toned skin (I have a pretty good tan, I'm just darker tan, nowhere near African American type Skin color). The problem is whenever I go outside! It makes my whole face look too obvious when I have makeup on, and it just makes my face look terrible! I do have some Acne Pigmentation, and redness, but when I see it in the mirror in my bathroom, it looks fine. But when natural lighting occurs, ouch. Help please!"

You should try applying your makeup in a room with natural lighting. But, the problem is your foundation is too dark for your skin. A lot of liquid foundations tend to dry darker. What you can do is use a moisturizer (face cream, make sure it's white) to lighten it, before applying. So you would mix the moisturizer and the foundation on your hand and then apply it to your face. This does however lighten the coverage, so you might have to use some extra concealer on your acne pigmentation. If this doesn't work, I suggest you get a lighter color or even switch brands. I'm assuming you have mature skin, since you're a mother so I suggest you use a powder (mineral) foundation rather than a liquid one. It'll sit better on your skin and help conceal any visible lines you have (if any). It will also do a better job at hiding any acne scars. "Bare Essentials" is the go to brand but many other companies make powder foundations as well.
