Can you explain the difference in quality between gold flatware?
I would like to purchase a set of gold flatware. I see reference to different material composition of the sets for sale - 24-karat, gold plated, gold electroplated, gold tone on bronze. I do not notice significant difference in the price between the different kinds of gold.The set would be used on a regular basis.
What kind would be recommended? Any other advice is appreciated.
All the gold platings you mentioned are the same.
I will tell you the truth, Gold flatware is a pain -in-the-*ss to use every day. It wears off quickly especially spoons, water spots very bad.Do not put in the dishwasher.You would have to hand dry every piece if you can't handle the spots.
We had a set that was used 2-3 times a month, and after 3 years sold it in a yard sale for $5.00. I don't recommend.
