What is the best clay for sculpting?
Okay, I am an artist and I just finished drafting up my first sculpture plans. I needed to know what the best type of clay is for what I am doing and where online I can purchase it. I am making a wall hanging of the human body curled up, I want the clay to fire white. So I am not using bronze....Anyway thanks for any advice!

If you want the piece whiter, you could brush the piece with porcelain slip or on engobe.or under-glaze

The paper clay is more forgiving than porcelain or regular stoneware. Porcelain can work but it could also crack if not treated correctly. I would choose low-fire over porcelain if I was limited between the 2.
Warning the paperclay can mold when moist. The lighter weight and superior joining make it worth trying
Admittedly you will try several methods and materials until you settle on what is your style.
