What is your favourite brass instrument? Which do you think is easiest for a beginner to pick up?
I'd cast my vote for trombone and trumpet as my fav.s. As for easiness, at least when starting out, I say trumpet.

My nephew loves brass, and will be starting band next year. I play trumpet and use to play trombone so I'm 'biased'. He wants an unbiased opinion on what you would choose if you were in his position.

It also depends on what kinds of parts you like and the range of notes. There are also different kinds of trombones. I myself play bass trombone and so I play low notes. Tenor plays higher notes.
If you don't like Trombone, then how about the baritone. It's like a trombone and a trumpet fused!
