Contemporary Mini
hey dudes, my mom gave me a room to make into a hangoout/lounge and i want it to be pretty cool. suggestions?
i want this place to be kind of a contemporary style room, not alot of bright colors, but like grey/black/white type deal, and all i have right now is a couple of tv stands, some drawers, a couch (black), a mini fridge, and an accent wall of grey. im not the best designer in the world, or not a very good designer at all for that matter. i would like it to be a room for me and my friends to hang out. help me with your ideas dudes!
Ok, I'm not a dude, but I saw your question and had to give a little feminine input.
First of all, congrats on getting your "man cave!" I firmly believe all men need a man cave...a space of their own.
My decorating advice would be that it sounds like you're off to a good start. Just put what you really like in the room. I think a really nice black and white poster of Marilyn Monroe would look great on your accent wall and give you that pinup without ticking your mom off with something edging on porn.
Make sure there's plenty of space to move around in (ie. don't place a coffee table in front of the sofa if it only leaves you a tiny bit of room to walk between the sofa, table and TV stand.
Keep the clutter to a minimum. Nothing makes a room look messier than clutter.
Otherwise, just have fun with it.
