RABBIT QUESTIONS! NEED HELP & ANSWERS! THANKS!?
I KNOW ITS LONG BUT PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS THANKS! How much would it cost me to get a rabbit from a breeder? At a pet store what does it cost? What all does a rabbit need? What kind of cage, toys, accessories(bed, etc), food, what is the water in a bowl or cylinder thing hanging on the wall, etc????? Will it need a hamster ball to roll in? Will it be ok outside in the cage for a few hours in the shade? Will it get along with a Dog & Cat(their both very kind and gentle)?Does it need a wheel? How much would food and treats cost? And finally how much would it cost in all for a rabbit?? Thanks for your guys help! I need it! Please Answer the Questions! Thanks!
Hey. Ok so I've had my rabbit for 2 years now so I have sufficient experience taking care a rabbit! Ok 1) I dont know how much they would cost but I'm sure you could find them for free depending on where you live.. I got mine from a neighbour who has a farm. 2) When I got my rabbit I bought a package from the pet store that included the cage, water dispenser (the bottle type that hangs are best, other wise they will kick shavings and stuff in their water bowl), food dish and a holder for a toy. This cost 50$ which is pretty cheap for all of this. You need to make sure the cage is tall enough that the rabbit can stand up on his hind legs and not touch his head, otherwise they will be cramped for space. Rabbits generally dont use a wheel, but things to chew on which can be bought for about 4$ at the pet store such as mineral licks and other hard things are good because they are entertaining and keep their teeth from growing too long. Shavings are also a good idea for inside thecage. In my cage I put a few layers of newpaper and then 2-3 inches of shavings on top. If you live in the country try buying shavings at a co-op as they are about 1/2 the price as at the pet store. For my rabbit I feed him lettuce and pellets once in the morning and once at night I also feed him carrots regularily and fruit occasionally. Fruit is good, but too much could be fatal. A bag of pellets costs about 3$ and for my rabbit (who is a dwarf) he usually eats a whole bag in 2 weeks. I usually leave my rabbit in his cage outside for 3-4 hours a day in the shade when its not too hot, nor too cold and he likes it. I sometimes take the bottom off his cage and just put the top over him and let him eat grass, but not for more than 20 mins a day because too much grass wouldnt be good.
