How do i wire my puddle lights, side view mirror under light so that it lights up like my dome light?
I bought lights on ebay that are meant to light up when my car is unlocked or the door is open. I figured that if i wire the two wires that it came with into the dome light wiring, for (door open) that it would work. Unfortunately when i did so it turned on when the dome lights went off and vice versa. Does anyone know how i could solve this problem. Thanks
Main objective:i want the lights to light up whenever my dome light lights up.
I'm not 100%sure but i think the the switch at the door is to ground the light to make it come on . thus i think the dome light has power to it at all times and the switch grounds the light when turned on or the door is opened and completing the circuit by grounding. you could check my theory bu taking a test light and checking for current at the interior lamp with lights off and door closed. if that would be the case then you could tap that wire somewhere and connect the other wire of the puddle lights to one the door light wire or the wire on the switched that goes to ground when the switch is used.this is only a calculated guess, good luck and let me know
