How does flexability impact running distance track(800m-3200m) and cross country running?
im extremely inflexible but i have been rigorously running for 4 years now. I was wondering if being more flex able would help me run faster. I have heard from many that it wont. BTW i am 5ft 4ish and 120lb.
It is extremely important. It not only helps prevent injury, but also helps your form. Up to my junior year in high school, I was not flexible at all. My best 800m at the time was a 2:06.
I made a huge commitment to increase my flexibility over the summer. Senior year I ran a 1:59. Of course there were other factors, but my increased flexibility helped me big time.
