Why does it matter if you have flush mounted signal lights or not?
Like in some Sport bike magazines that I read, they always advertise it a lot. I'm just curious why it's emphasized so much? I would guess non flush mounted lights get hit by rocks and pebbles and cause them to break off?
The reason you see them on sports bikes is that they have less wind resistance. The sport bike crowd likes to look aerodynamic. No one I know has ever had a signal break by getting hit by debris. It usually takes a crash of some sort to break them. If you crash you will probably have to fix more than just turn signals.
