General Soldering Question?
The story is that I was replacing some surface mount LEDs on a circuit board and as I removed the last LED, the solder that was supposed to stay on the board came off. So now there is a bare spot on the board where the solder should be so that I can replace the last LED. My question is how am I supposed to re-apply the solder to the board in the spot where it came off? Any help is much appreciated. I can send pictures if needed.
Like the other guy said, that was not solder. The area where the component attaches is called a pad or land. Find where it was connected and attach a wire from there directly to the component. A proper repair would involve replacing the pad but that takes a little practice. If you send a picture I would be glad to look.
