Build a tiny LED light?

I'm trying to build a mini LED menorah that's battery operated. I want to be able to fit the LED's inside the candle holders of a small menorah (like the one below), and each one needs to have it's own battery and switch so I can light it as if it was a real menorah (shamash and candle 1 on night 1, shamash, candle 1, and candle 2 on night 2, etc.) I'm doing this because I'm traveling during the Hanuka and it needs to be plane safe (I'm going on an El Al flight).
The menorah wil be a lot like this one, but smaller. Around 6x6 probably.

Most LEDs need at least 2 - 2.5V, blue ones need 3V. The brute force way is to use a higher voltage (say 4.5 or 6V) and a dropping resistor. That rules out using a coin cell for example.

But, take a look at this thingo (links below.) Runs a 3V (e.g., blue) LED on 1.5V and would use any kind of cell you want.

Still, I'd put the battery and switches in the base and fish wires into the candle holders.
