Wher can I buy a solar outdoor light that complies with The National Electrical Code in USA?
I built a new deck in my house with a new entrance door. I want to use a solar operated outdoor light so I don't have to apply for an electrical permit from the city. Can somebody give me the manufacturer and catalog number?
I don't think that the NEC has anything to do with an independant solar powered light. They might have a U.L. listing but that's a different thing entirely.
I would assume that any solar powered lighting unit that you find available at a retail store would have any necessary agency approvals.
You don't need an electrical permit, nobody will inspect it. When you think about it, we are just talking about a flashlight with a solar panel to charge the battery. No permit needed. Firearms yes, flashlights no.
