Pendant light installation?
We are doing some remodeling and are installing three mini pendant lights over a peninsula in our kitchen. I can't decide the best measurements/spacing for this. The peninsula is 7 feet long and, at the wall end, we have an upper cabinet that extends out one foot from the wall. So, should the pendants be evenly spaced over the entire 7 foot long peninsula (for example, one at 2 feet out from the wall, one at 3.5 feet out, and one at 5 feet out) -- OR should they be evenly spaced over the "free space"? By that, I mean in the 6 feet of open area not covered by that upper cabinet -- so in that case, we might have one light at 3 feet out from the wall, one at 4.5 feet out, and one at 6 feet out. My concern is that I want them to look balanced -- not all grouped towards one end, but also taking into consideration the "weight" that the upper cabinet will add to the peninsula. It's just really hard to visualize because the cabinets aren't installed yet. Any suggestions?
space them in the free space. the open area will look more balaced and the cabnet will " frame" them well. if one light is closer to the cabnet and the other is a farther distance from the wall, it will look off ballance.
