Solid Lacquered Maple flooring and is there an alternative?
We are putting it down in the front room and hall and we wanted quite wide boards at least 120mm but more like 166mm would be better for a 50sq area.
I am now just wandering is there any other wood types that'd give that really light, classy and rustic feel that we are after...?
Also any recommendations on websites would be great.
I live in the UK and have installed hard wood flooring from time to time. European Oak is quite popular American Oak is nice but has a red tint and some people prefer European. This comes graded e.g. rustic with knot, medium grade, and premium grade with very few knots. I have used French which is also quite popular. I use a company called Trade woods who will supply me with samples of the flooring available, then offer an overnight delivery service. Good luck I hope you find a flooring to suit your needs.
