The dollar's rise has more to do with falling commodity prices and a weakening global economy. The stock market can experience a false rally when short-sellers are forced to buy to cover their positions, but this action cannot solely explain the dollar's rise.
As for getting out of the US and into China, I'd be wary of this. Yes, the US is experiencing a downturn, but so is the rest of the world, including China, which just recently passed its own stimulus package. Accurate data on the Chinese economy and Chinese company is difficult to find since the majority of the country's population lives in rural areas.
The only smart way to invest is to research each individual company. Guys like Jim Rogers and Jim Cramer are blowhards. Of course Jim Rogers wants you to invest in China--he wrote a book about it. You have to take guys like these with a grain of salt.
