How do you remove a 50 year old rust stain from a polished marble surface, without damaging the marble?
MArble is in fact a very porous stone.
That said, aquamix makes a product called "Poultice" which acts as a drawing sauve and draws trhe stain out of marble.
Dont expect to put it on and expect it to happen in a matter of minutes though.
You mix it to a tooth paste consistency cover it with wax paper and in all honesty may have to leave it on for a good 24 to 48 and quite possibly even 72 hours.I've seen the product work wonders on many stains,rust included.
Whatever you do....please DO NOT ever use even the finest of steel wools on your marble. Marble is as soft as it is porous and scratches more easily than it stains..
