how to clean rusty metal chandeliers?
You can remove the rust with a Brillo pad. Then clean very well and paint with a rust converter. You can buy rust converting paints at Home Depot. They're also available on line:

Make sure you put painter's tape over any parts you do not want painted. (Remove the tape while the paint is still wet or the tape can pull paint off with it.)
After the rust-converter cures, you can paint the chandelier with just about any paint. You won't even need paint made for metals, since the rust converter will act as a primer.
