Redesign Bathroom for the moms. Paint help.?
so we have this little half bathroom in our house thats so plain ugly looking so for my mom's birthday i wanted to surprise her with painting it, getting some new tiles, new accessories and everything. Color scheme i thought would be brown and a light blue. classic but modern a little bit. the real question i guess i have is when repainting this bathroom what would i really need? just paint, primer paint? and if you have any other suggestions to make this half bath (well more like a toilet sink and shower) better feel free to let me know.
and i know my mother wouldn't mind me repainting it, she'd be appreaciative about the effort to fix it up. thanks people.
i'd use kilz primer. You can find it at any home depot.. and maybe lowes or other home improvement stores. We made the mistake of just painting once in a bathroom and after a couple of months, my ceiling was stained. The old owners of our house had smoked inside and the tar and other toxic stuff, along with dirt had seeped through the paint. Since I had painted the ceilings white, it stained bad and I was forced to repaint again. And yes, we had washed the walls down before painting. Kilz is the only thing I know of that should 100% cover any dirt or anything else that you miss.
