Halogen lamp top bright?
Three months ago I bought a halogen lamp which I mounted on the ceiling. A week ago the lamp started to shine brighter than usual, and one of the two bulbs went out (I believe halogen bulbs are supposed last 2-4 years). I can tell the lamp is brighter as I have exactly the same lamp farther along in my hallway, and that seems to light normally. What could be wrong?
How did you put the bulb in the fixture? Since halogen bulbs generate alot of heat, you should not handle them with your fingers. The oil on them will actually shorten the bulbs life considerably. If you do touch one, clean it thoroughly with a paper towel and alcohol before installing.
