Laying a natural slate tile floor?
Is it possible to lay a natural slate tiled floor over solid (dry and in perfect condition) tongue+groove chipboard.
I have been told this can be done with special adhesive.
The chipboard is screwed to the floor joists and solid as a rock with no movement.

The problem with slate over anything other than legit subflooring/backerboard is the shifting underflooring (float) could cause cracks later on. Is the current floor fixed to subfloor, or is it loose? That is a big detreminant.
