I'm getting started in mushroom farming any good sources of info?
I'm starting out with black morels, shitake, and pearl oyster.
Just started prepping an area for the morels, burned a patch out with dead branches. Going to set-up a large Rain Bird sprinkler for watering, Would a misting system be better. I live in south eastern montana, am I going to have problem? Native morels trigger when conditions are right

The patch is going to be 100' in diameter.
The sprinkler I have in mind will cover that radius and stands on a 8' mast. The shittake & pearl oyster plugged logs will surround the outside circle. The morels will be in the interior. I starting to realise that the water pressure could blast the tender mushrooms.
For a lot that size, I would go with the rotary heads. Make sure the mast will support the water pressure coming from the heads. You can put 4 rows of 4 heads (12 on the outside shooting in, 4 in the middle shooting full circles) to cover the field and turn the nozzles down (the screw above the nozzles), the heads will shoot a finer mist a, but not as great of a distance. Use 2-3 GPM nozzles, that will give you a good mist. You could also go with 3 rows of 3 depending on the head that you use, but the drops would be bigger because you won't be able to turn the heads down as much. Just make sure that you don't put too many heads on each zone. Hope this helps.
