How can i make my remote controlled ceiling fan work with just the pull strings?
I have a hunter ceiling fan that is remote controlled but we lost the remote about a month ago. The fan has pull strings but the one for the fan will not work. So what can I do to make the pull string for the fan to work.

The wires i see coming from the fan are black, white, green, and a black wire with white stripes.
If the remote on the fan is built in, you might need to buy a replacement remote control. Hunter is a main brand, so the HD or Lowes should have universals in stock. Or contact Hunter and order a replacement directly.
It the remote is an after market type, shut the power off at the switch or breaker, remove the canopy at the top, the piece that is touching the ceiling, and remove the plastic box that the wire in going into. The wires coming out of the ceiling box are black or red, white and green. The wires coming out of the fan are black, blue, white and green.
After disconnecting all the wires, connect the green wire from the ceiling box to the green wire from the fan, white to white, and black to the blue and black wires from the fan.
