light bulbs keep blowing out in old house. What can I do?
Hello,
I am renting and living in a very old cottage and it has some "quirks"
The light bulbs in two wall sconces mounted on the outside wall of the house, keep blowing out. The cottage is 88 years old and I am guessing that the electrical wiring isn't the best. Anything that can be done? This will be the third time since the summer that I have to put in new bulbs. And they are just 60 watt standard bulbs.

Even old wiring will not affect lamp life. If they are not lasting long then they are either poor quality lamps, your voltage is high or fluctuating, or they are suffering from local vibration. Try fitting a low energy equivalent.
