Do they still make wall sconces with switch and outlet?
I have an old house. In three of the bedrooms (obviously before they decided switches and overhead lighting was the way to go) there are porcelain wall sconces with both pull cords and outlets. The sconces are kind of scary (barely holding on to the wall and I'm sure the wiring in them is very old - also the pull chain has been yanked from two of them). I'd like to replace them, but with the lack of outlets in my house, I really want the 3-in-1 convenience to stay. Are sconces like this still made today? I have found several switch sconces, but none with outlets. Maybe an option is to clean them up, rewire and remount them? Any help is greatly appreciated!

They will custom manufacture any fixture you want, but it won't be cheap. I'd try a "new and used" joint or a salvage yard if you insist on changing the fixtures.
Rewiring is the way to go, you obviously need new octagon boxes as well that are properly attached to the wall studs. It's not easy and it's not cheap, but it's the right way to do it. I seriously doubt that just replacing the fixtures is going to fix your problem. Whatever you hang off those mounts is going to be loose (if you even have mounts). Sorry, this one ain't cheap no matter which way you go.
Just changing a fixture isn't going to tighten up the underlying electrical/fixture box behind the wall. That isn't the way it works.
