Garage door opener malfunctions in heat of the day in summer?
Just moved into house in Feb. Garage door opener works fine in cool weather but in summer during the heat of the day (door faces west) when you 1-6 inches and then go back up and the light will flash. I have shaded the sensors thinking it was light related with no relief, but I am guessing it is perhaps tracking and expansion related in the heat? HELP!!
Have turned the force all the way up. Will look again at the sun/sensors but have already tried. Perhaps did not shade enough.
Shaded the eyes and did not help. Appears to be a heat / expansion thing, Will try the balance thing. How do I balance if not?
try to turn up the force adjustment, there should be a screw on the unit that you can turn to increase the amount of force used to open or close the door. the heat and expansion may be causing a bind somewhere
