Can a silk lampshade be repaired?
I have a Stiffel lamp with a silk shade. The silk on the inside of the shade tore near the top around the frame arms (whatever they're called) when I was cleaning it.
Any suggestion on how to effectively repair this damage? Are there place that specialize in this kind of repair? I'm in AZ near LV NV.

Even though Stiffel was a Higher end product, it is very unlikely that the inner liner of your shade was silk. Normally the inner liners are linen. Being such, your most cost effective means of repair would be a seamstress. I am sure one would be able to sew on a new liner. The other alternatives would be more expensive.
