100 Watt High Pressure Sodium Bulb Question?
Hello I have a question about this 100 watt hps bulb. It says on this site (which is http://www.buylighting.com/) that it is a Medium Screw (standard household base).
Now my question is do i need a ballast or can I just plug it into a regular house lamp.
Just because it will screw in does not mean it will work. As stated by the website you visited.
"High Pressure Sodium - Medium Base light bulbs have a standard base like a regular household bulb. Please note that the bulb wattage must match the wattage rated by the fixture or ballast. Wattages are not interchangeable."
This means you will have to provide the correct ballast, igniter and capacitor to make it work.
