Hey lighting experts, can it be done?
Can a pendant light with a 15"dome shade be changed from chain hung to stem hung? Should one be concerned about the electrical chord bearing the weight of the shade? Has anyone done this? Thanks everyone!
the only way to find out is to try it. The cord can carry a shade unless it's really something heavy or decorative. You will need a suspension rod or a cord with a knot in it. Don't throw away the chain and you can switch back. Do it with the light off and if it doesn't hold go back.
