How to Switch Back to Old License Plate?
I have a vanity plate on my car now, and it's no longer relevant to me, so I want to have it removed. I still have my old license plate, so can I just switch them or is there something I need to do with the DMV?

legally you were required to turn that in way back when. it is no longer valid. the plate numbers get released for re-issue shortly after you got the vanity plates. have to go to dmv and apply for a new issue.
