Universal Garage Door Remote Control - won't work...why?
I got the Skylink G6VR Universal Garage Door Remote Control

I hooked it up, it worked for 4 or 5 tests
But a couple hours later, it doesn't work anymore
neither the remote control or the button on the wall works
I hooked it up according to the directions
...two (white) wires hooked into the wires coming out of the walls
one gray wire loose (don't know why...but directions didn't mention it, and it isn't stripped to the actual wire
The directions mention an adapter for "older openers"
but this opener is less than 8 years old and it worked once...so it doesn't seem to me like that would be the case
any ideas?

what was wrong with the opener? The gray wire should be the antenna wire. I never heard of this model before or the brand. I know chamberlain makes several universal receivers that are very easy to install. I do know on most openers the polarity does matter. Try reversing the wire connections.Also make sure you connected the wires back to where they were supposed to be if they were on the multifunction wall control.
